Hi, I’m Carolina.

This is me enjoying a photoshoot day. If I look happy, it’s because I found what I love.

I was practically born to be a designer: My mother was a fastidious homemaker, and my father was an engineer. I began to pay close attention to all the details of my home from a young age. I used to constantly rearrange my room and anyone else’s rooms who would let me near them.

I live to design!

That’s why I received my architecture degree and I created Studio CM Design. I provide Idea to I Love It services for homeowners who want a truly unique design experience.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR HOME?

 

Have you ever thought something like, "I know I want something like this picture I found, but I don’t know how to make that happen." Or, "I want to make this house feel special, but I don’t want some designer to come in and make it all about her personal vision."

If so, then you’re like many of my favorite clients. You love your home and want it to be a special place for you, your family, and your loved ones. You want to find an interior designer who will honor that love and help you realize your dreams for your home.

MY PHILOSOPHY: DESIGNING FOR WHAT MAKES YOU YOU

 

You want to live in your home, not just show it off in a magazine. So, yes, the principle of form following function is still true. But it goes beyond that.

You’re not hiring me to make your home look like me. You want your home to be your home. That means we need to design your home to reflect what makes you you.

So expect me to ask about personal stories and important memories. Expect to see your family heirlooms show up in my mock-ups. Expect unique pieces that speak to the things you love and value. Expect to tell people stories when they come into your home.

DESIGN IS COLLABORATION

If you tried to pin me down to describe my style, I would say it is:

Enduring, yet comfortable. Sophisticated, yet usable.

To me, a room should still look great when the trends change in three years. And you should love to spend time in there even after your company goes home.

But what I really love is when my clients say: “I never could have imagined this, but it’s exactly what I wanted!”

That’s when I know I’ve made a real connection. To get there, we have to collaborate, and the good news: The collaboration is the fun part!
